چکیده

The micro-abrasion of medical NiTi alloy in simulated body fluid was investigated this paper. friction and wear tests were carried out by TE66. surface morphology scar the mechanism examined SEM. rates calculated according to equations. effects load, type size particles considered. Under same particle, particle has little influence on rate. caused SiC are greater than that Al2O3 particle. experimental conditions, lowest rate 2.3×10-5mm3/Nm is obtained at F1200 load 2.0N. abrasive dominant mechanism.

Effect of TiO2 nano-particles on corrosion behavior of Co-Cr alloy coatings in simulated body fluid

Co-Cr and Co-Cr/nano-TiO2 coatings were electrodeposited from Cr(III) based baths. The effect of TiO2 nano-particles incorporation on the morphology, structure, crystallite size, and preferred orientation was studied. Corrosion behavior of the composite coating was also investigated by means of polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques in Hanks’ si...

Corrosion behavior of polypyrrole/hydroxyapatite nanocomposite thin films electropolymerized on NiTi substrates in simulated body fluid

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanoparticles synthesized via microwave irradiation. Polypyrrole (PPy)/HAp nanocomposite was obtained using electropolymerization on nitinol (Ni) titanium (Ti) substrates. Fourier transform infrared was employed to characterize the nanocomposite formation. Electrochemical properties of the nanocomposite were investigated using polarization and electrochemical impedance spec...

electrochemical evaluation of hydroxyapatite/zrn coated magnesium biodegradable alloy in ringer solution as a simulated body fluid

magnesium alloys as biodegradable materials can be used in body as an implant materials but since they have poor corrosion resistance, it is required to decrease their corrosion rate by biocompatible coatings. in this study, hydroxyapatite (ha) coatings in the presence of an intermediate layer of zrn as a biocompatible material, deposited on az91 magnesium alloy by ion beam sputtering method at...

In Vitro Corrosion Study of Friction Stir Processed WE43 Magnesium Alloy in a Simulated Body Fluid

Corrosion behavior of friction stir processing (FSP) WE43 alloy in a simulated body fluid (SBF) was investigated. Micro-galvanic corrosion was the dominated corrosion behavior, and the corrosion resistance of FSP WE43 alloy was improved compared to the cast counterpart. Furthermore, due to the fine-grained and homogeneous microstructure, uniform corrosion morphology was observed on FSP WE43 all...

Control of biodegradation of a Mg alloy in simulated body fluid

Mg alloy AZ31 is an attractive candidate for coronary artery stents, as it possesses excellent biocompatibility in human body and good mechanical properties. However, AZ31 magnesium alloys generally have poor corrosion resistance in the body environment. This paper reports on the early stages of an investigation into the corrosion mechanism and the morphology of corrosion of AZ31 in simulated b...
